    ASB is good.
dgn syarat you don’t withdraw the money you threw inside.
    no point then..
unless u really urgently need the money.

you could actually do loan with bank and put it inside your ASB.
there is a loan just for ASB..eg banks like maybank, cimb, rhb ada offer.

u cant take out the loan money out but only the dividen at the end of he year.*but advisely don’t withdraw it* biar duit beranak pinak dalam tu.

go and search around.if not just go to any bank and ask them about it.
surely they will glad to assist you.

Hahaha I will go with your advice then :)

    thanks!

    Just my two cents amiey..

if u have discipline, i would recommend the saving loans from banks and etc, otherwise, just dump ur money in asb because u wont be tied up to having to save the money every month. It would be on ur own timing. I know saving loans are something good, but i myself cant predict the future hence thats why i dont do saving loans as recommended by banks (cimb, rhb, maybank and etc). If u cant handle keeping money by force, you’d be really stressed out once u dont come up with the money to pay every month. Some saving loans are 5? 10 years or so. So, Unless u know u’d be having money every month to keep, then its ok. I usually have tonnes of stuffs cropping up every month, the least i cud do is dump my money in another bank account :) One i wouldnt touch at all (and yes, that needs discipline too!) LOL..

    About budget..
What is your monthly expenses? Are you spendthrift with stuffs? You could ask yourself these questions and sort out the answers.

My monthly expenses when i was back in Uni was mostly on food (cos u know i really love to eat~~~), plane/bus tickets, photostating money (for my notes), stationeries, and fun (movies, clubs etc). It was never enough but i had lil biznes goin around (renting my dvd’s and editing assignments).. so.. i may speak for all.. us students… never have enough money~

I’m not sure, because from what I see, every month pay isn’t enough to support me there. Food, broadband, phone, and everything. The monthly pay isn’t enough at all. And to open ASB, urmm… I need to think twice…

    Hi Amiey,

I do have a sample of monthly budget (ny husband keeps his budget every year). If you want I can email it to you.

About ASB, it is quite good as long as you don’t take your money out and let it grows every year. Regarding taking a loan for ASB savings, I think what you should do first is to check your budget, how much money do you have left to spend on and to pay for the loan. If your budget is tight every month, I advise not to take the loan. You’ll end up stressing more to find money to pay to the bank. And for a long period too (also depends on how long your loan is).

    Good luck.
