I’ve been living here for almost 6 months, and I see few things regarding tudung. I’m not sure about others, but from what I see, here, lots of the girls are wearing tudung, but then their mouths and even behavior are much worse than those whom not wearing tudung.
For me, and for some people that I know, they have the same thought with me. Which is, what’s worth wearing tudung if you’re doing the same things that those not wearing tudung doings? For instance, gossiping and talk bad things about others. Some even doing some other bad things such as dating, holding hands and make love (not married) while wearing tudung!!!
I thought, once you’re wearing tudung, you should take care of what you’re doing and saying. Tudung symbolizes the religion you hold, and once people see you talking bad about others while wearing tudung, people will look down on your religion.
I rarely seen this in Kuching, but here, almost all of the girls are like that. They’re wearing tudung but they love talking shit about others. Are they proud of wearing tudung? Until they forgot how to take care of their image while wearing it?
I love being myself, because for me, I will have my tudung on my head when the time has come. When I think I am free from any sins. I will use tudung when I think I am ready enough not to do any gossiping, talk bad about others and anything that considers as sins! LOL

This issue has been talked since ever. They just thought that just by wearing an extra garment on them makes them a better person than us. Such bullshit.. It’s the thought and the way we carry ourselves matters.

This probably explains that Sarawakians know themselves very well. For me, I’m sure that no one in this modern world can avoid bitching about other people’s lives, is there any?
I don’t wear tudung because I respect my faith and religion. I’m not THAT religous. I know that it has already been my nature to say bitchy things about others so I think it’s best for me to protect myself by not covering up, because I hate it the most when people say “terit jak bertudung,tapi olah kedak apa jak”. It will tarnish not only my religion, but my personality as well. :)
